Hi, my name is Dave Van Horn.
A while back, a friend took a true story of mine
she thought was funny, and turned it into a fully
illustrated children's book. In the process of
creating her story, we invited several children
to read it and offer their opinions. I quickly
learned how much fun they had creating their own
stories. Better, how compelling their own stories
often are.
KidBookInk™ was launched
as we set off on a quest to build a place
where children come to write, and create. KidBookInk™
is unique.
We are the first publisher devoted to offering
works by children, to
the general market. Our purpose is not only to
provide the tools for
children to write, but to allow any child who
desires, to experience the journey of becoming
a recognized author, artist, musician, singer,
or videographer.
Through guidance and coaching, our process allows
your child to take part in a journey that most
adults only ever dream of.
Most spaces devoted to children's writing are
self-defeating in nature. The child is told to
'submit' and 'wait' for approval. Publishers treat
kids like adults, and give kids the sense that
they 'know' greatness when they see it. Children
are told, "Don't worry if you don't hear
back from us, keep trying!" We all know how
motivating that line of logic has been in our
lives!
Then there's the MySpace and YouTube genre, basically,
throw something at the web and see what sticks.
One might get lucky, but generally the adage of
WP Kinsella's legendary chant applies, "If
you build it, they will come...". At KidBookInk™,
we have this same mind set.

KidBookInk™ is founded on the premise
of encouragement and guidance. We are coaches
and mentors not gatekeepers.
We are here to offer your child, and your family,
the experience of obtaining real credentials such
as 'Author', 'Artist', 'Musician', 'Producer'.
We supply the tools, the training, the coaching,
and finally provide the 'vehicle' to launch their
dreams from. The tools begin with StoryBoard4Kidz™
, then Am I Ready? Review™,
and culminate with BizKit4Kidz™.
BizKit4Kidz™ is a powerful
yet simple combination of a plan and dedicated
mentor. Imagine, having some one in your 'camp'
to motivate you along! Your child follows the
plan, meets (via teleconference) with their mentor
at pre-arranged times, and moves the process along.
They are equipped with tools that not only show
them what to do, they show interested adults,
investors, that this child is serious and HAS
A PLAN!
Not only do they have a PLAN, they have a place.
Children entering Stage 2 get
their own website with a store!
It's set up for them to market their work(s).
Each mini-site contains a short biography, a calendar
of events for the child, a description of their
product(s), and is set up to handle credit card
transactions which sends the proceeds of their
sales directly into their bank account! Links
are pre-set with Amazon, Borders, Barnes &
Noble, and KidBookInk™ to enable
our Stage 2 Kids to start selling
and earning money from their effort.
Our KidBookInk™ concept has become
very compelling to adults who wish to try our
method. We have developed Friends of KidBookInk™
for this very need. Here, adults wishing to 'go
to market' are provided with the same tools, and
if they get to Stage 2, provided
their own mini-site and store from which they
can launch and manage their own success.
